I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, as was my father and grandfather. My great-grandfather immigrated to Ann Arbor in 1882 from Alsace-Lorraine and for many years he, and later his sons, owned and operated several small neighborhood grocery stores. I love my hometown with all of its great and diverse neighborhoods, wonderful parks and trees, an incredible downtown, and grand potpourri of people, interest groups, clubs, politics, cultures, and activities.
